SCOPE

RESPONSIBILITIES

•Develop and teach high-quality swim lesson programs for all ages.

•Maintain accurate, up to date progress sheets and records for participants as well as completing evaluations.

•Performs lifeguarding functions, according to Provincial and Surrey's guidelines.

•Observe patrons in pool, enforce safety regulations, maintain order in the swimming and desk areas.

•Provide First Aid treatment.

•Engage with a diverse client base to provide exceptional service.

•Provide a clean and safe swimming environment.

•Demonstrates appropriate behaviours in line with our City Values.

•You may be required to perform water tests to ensure adequate water quality and will occasionally work with Chlorine and otherchemicals related to pool operations.
 

QUALIFICATIONS

•Completion of Grade 10 plus formal Lifeguard and Swim Instructor training.•Current Certificates in the following:
-Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor.
-National Lifeguard Service - Pool Option.
-Standard First Aid with CPR C and AED.
•Meets the requirements to be a lifeguard under BC Public Health Act Pool Regulations.

•Available evenings and Full Weekend availability.

•Candidates must successfully complete a rigorous screening process, including:

-Physical standards Testing

-First aid diagnostic and treatment.

-Lifeguard standards.

-Water safety instructing skill.
 

Certificates MUST be VALID at the time of application. Certificates (Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor, NL, SFA with CPR C and AED) MUST be uploaded at the time of application.

Summary

This position assists in the delivery of aquatic and instruction services, including planning, program organization, and promotion aquatic programs. We are seeking a passionate Swim Instructors to join our team. If you have a love for swimming and educating others, this position is perfect for you.

 

Responsibilities:

- Friendly and proactive

- Conduct swim lessons for individuals or groups of varying ages from 4-13 and skill levels from Preschool 1 to Swimmer 6

- Teach proper swim techniques and water safety skills

- Engage effective lesson plans by outlined by the Head Coach

- Provide constructive feedback to swimmers to help them improve

- Ensure a safe and positive learning environment

 

Requirements:

- Certified swim instructor. Min 1 year and Max 2 years experience in local swimming instruction

- Swim instructor certification from other countries is a plus

- Ability to work well with diverse groups of people

- English is a must. If candidate is able to listen or speak in Chinese will be a plus
