Lifeguard and Instructor Liability Insurance

Members in good standing of the Lifesaving Society including award holders and council members while acting within the scope of their duties as a member or within their training and certification to whom a valid certificate of insurance has been issued.

This is a comprehensive General Liability Policy with a limit of $2M bodily injury or property damage for each occurrence. There is a $1000 deductible amount per occurrence.

Applicants are covered for liability arising from duties as first aid & aquatic instructors, lifeguards, examiners or operations usual to members of the Society while acting within the scope of Lifesaving Society awards.

Coverage includes legal defense, settlement amounts, court award amounts and other related costs. Although you may not be found liable, proving it may cost several thousand dollars in legal fees.

The reasonable premium is possible due to a group policy available for a specified period. Coverage becomes effective when payment is received and expires on the following December 31 at 12:00 midnight. Premiums cannot be prorated and Insurance policies are non-refundable.

This coverage is in excess of any other valid or collectable insurance
Applicants are covered when working within the territorial limits of BC & the Yukon only.
The sponsoring organization (Lifesaving Society) is not an additional named insured
