The Lifesaving Society Swim for Life Instructor certification prepares candidates to teach and evaluate basic swim strokes and related skills. Swim Instructors teach and evaluate candidates in the Society’s Swim for Life® and Canadian Swim Patrol levels. Candidates are trained in, and must demonstrate skills, knowledge, and attitudes at a Competency Level 1 to achieve certification.

Course notes
This course trains candidates on how to teach the Lifesaving Society’s Swim for Life and Canadian Swim Patrol programs. Candidates will learn teaching and evaluation philosophy and the techniques to teach water rescue, first aid and related aquatic skills. Prerequisites: Bronze Cross, and must be 15 years of age or older. 100% attendance is mandatory to successfully complete the course. Course Days: Nov 8 – Dec 13 Saturdays. 1:00PM-7:30PM
Teaching Experience: Nov 9 – Nov 30 Sundays 8:00AM-12:30PM (times given on first day based on supervising instructor availability)
