Become a Swim to Survive Day Vancouver Volunteer!

On Friday, July 22, 2016, the Lifesaving Society and the Lifeguard Outreach Society will bring free drowning prevention lessons to youth at Kitsilano Pool and will conduct the Swim to Survive program. As part of National Drowning Prevention Week (July 17 – 23), the Swim to Survive program will be provided to educate youth and parents on the risks associated with swimming and teach them survival skills essential for a safe and fun experience on the water.

Swim to Survive is a Lifesaving Society program offered across Canada that provides simple basic training in three essential skills needed to survive an unexpected fall into deep water. Swim to Survive is different than swimming lessons and not a replacement for them, but an important first step to being safe around water.

We are currently seeking enthusiastic individuals who want to help us spread the word about drowning prevention in Vancouver at beautiful Kits Pool.

Deck-side volunteers and in-water volunteers are needed to help deliver valuable water safety education and free Swim to Survive lessons to families in Vancouver. If you would like to be an on-deck volunteer please click here.
