The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for up to 15 auxiliary Recreation Worker IV – Lifeguard/Instructors to join our team of professionals in the Recreation, Culture and Parks Division. The focus of this position is to provide lifeguarding functions as well as instructional duties for a variety of aquatic programs.
All qualifications must be current and provided with application to be considered for this position:
Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification
LSS NLS - Pool and Water Park Option certifications
Standard First Aid certification
CPR Level C certification
AED certificate (Automated External Defibrillator)
Successful candidates must be a minimum of 17 years
Qualified, short-listed candidates will undergo a practical assessment of their skills.
This position is defined by the Township of Langley as a position of trust (Child Safety) and requires a criminal record check prior to employment start date.
The rate of pay for this CUPE position is $20.45 – $23.96 per hour (2011 rates), plus 12 % in lieu of benefits. The hours of work are varied, including a variety of shifts on nights, weekends and statutory holidays.
