Part-time March-June, 30-40 hours per week July-August
 
Established in 1993, L.I.T. Aquatics (www.litaquatics.com) provides specialized recreation training throughout British Columbia.  L.I.T. Aquatics currently offers over 1000 courses per year in 21 different recreation facilities located throughout the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley. The company requires a 6-month contract seasonal Operations Manager to keep pace with the rapid growth in its 3 primary divisions; Lifeguard Instructor, First Aid and Fitness Instructor Training.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Director and the Operations Manager, the Operations Assistant provides administrative support for the smooth operation of L.I.T. Aquatics.  The successful candidate will assist in the development, planning, and execution of all programs, communicate with staff and provide a range of operational and administrative support and participation in long range course planning. Marketing and assistant support will also be required for the Director in a Real Estate capacity.  This position is located in Surrey, BC. 
Primary Duties

  •      Working with the Director and Operations Manager to provide continued marketing support
  • ·       Provide support to First Aid Training contracts
  • ·       Helping improve/develop services by obtaining and analyzing customer feedback
  • ·       Answering customer phone calls and emails
  • ·       Overseeing sales support
  • ·       Data entry of customers in pre-developed database
  • ·       Liaising with facility supervisors, city staff and agency personnel
  • ·       Website maintenance on a pre-developed website
  • ·       Social media marketing in both a recreation/first aid and real estate capacity
  • ·       Some weekend and evening work will be required

Qualifications

  •         1-5 years of previous experience in Administration and/or Commerce and Sales (Previous leadership positions are an asset)
  • ·       Effective communication and interpersonal skills, being able to exercise sound judgment, tact and discretion when dealing with others 
  • ·       Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications required
  • ·       Ability to work on own with minimal supervision
  • ·       Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with facility supervisors, city staff and agency personnel
  • ·       Strong organizational and time management skills, being able to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities within short timelines
  • ·       Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • ·       Working knowledge of basic accounting, QuickBooks an asset
  • ·       First Aid/Lifeguarding experience is an asset
  • ·       Valid driver’s license and use of a vehicle is required

 
Preferred Qualifications

  • ·       Current Canadian Red Cross First Aid Instructor (or desire to take an upcoming course)
  • ·       Current Advanced Leadership certifications in the aquatic field
