Research

As the lifeguarding experts, the Lifesaving Society conducts research to assist in establishing aquatic safety standards and to determine where to direct public education resourses.

The Lifesaving Society collects drowning statistics and publishes an annual drowning report for stake holders and the public to use in making safe aquatic related decisions.

Additional research includes projects like the Lifeguard Research Project which helped to inform revisions to the National Lifeguard program.

Finally the Lifesaving Society conducts surveys of the community, pool operators, lifeguards and instructors to get a snapshot of the industry and the issues.
