The BC & Yukon Branch is pleased to announce that the Lifesaving Society has obtained WorkSafe BC approval of an Occupational First Aid (OFA) Level 1 equivalent course to be known as Worksite First Aid Level 1 (WFA Level 1).
The development of the WFA Level 1 program is in response to the growing number of facilities that require an OFA Level 1 Attendant within their aquatic facilities as per WorkSafe BC legislation.
All Lifesaving Society Worksite First Aid Level 1 courses delivered after March 08, 2008 will be accepted as OFA Level 1 certification in all workplaces in British Columbia.
 

Prerequisites:
16 years old, must provide one piece of photo identification OR two pieces of approved secondary identification at the start of the course.
Instructional Time: 

7 hours.

Recognition: 

Successful candidates that have shown all pre-requisites will be issued a temporary certification card on the last day of the course.  A permanent certification card will be mailed within 60 days.  Please contact us if the temporary card has expired and the permanent card has not been received.

Currency: 

Worksite First Aid Level 1 is current for 3 years.
