BOAT Instructor

Description: 

The Lifesaving BOAT Instructor course prepares candidates to teach and evaluate the BOAT program.  Current Lifesaving Instructors who hold a Lifesaving Society PCO card have the option to do an at-home assignment to achieve their BOAT Instructor certification.

Prerequisites:
Lifesaving Instructor Current within 2 years
Holds a Lifesaving PCO card
Instructional Time: 

The BOAT Instructor at-home assignment takes approximately 4-6 hours to complete.  

Certification will be issued once the at-home assignment is received and approved by the Branch office.  Retain a copy of the assignment for your records.

 

Recognition: 

Certification card is issued upon successful completion of the at-home assignment. 

Currency: 

The BOAT Instructor certification is current for 2 years and can be recertified through the Lifesaving Instructor Recert.

Evaluation and Other Items: 

BOAT Instructors that are current Lifesaving Instructor Trainers can apply to become a BOAT Instructor Trainer.  Apprenticeship will be required.
