Description: 

Boat Operator Accredited Training (BOAT) is accredited by the Canadian Coast Guard.   Those with boating experience that don't feel a BOAT course is required are able to do home study and then write the exam at one of the many Lifesaving Society BOAT test centres.  The BOAT Study Guide is available for purchase.

Federal regulations require that all operators of motorized boats and personal watercraft obtain a "Pleasure Craft Operator Card. " in accordance with the standards and guidelines set by the Canadian Coast Guard.  All Boaters operating a motorized watercraft, regardless of length must have their PCO card as of September 15th, 2009.

Prerequisites:
Minimum 8 years old
Recommended boating experience
Recognition: 

Successful candidates will be issued a temporary certification card on the last day of course.  A permanent certification card will be mailed within 60 days.  Please contact us if the temporary card has expired and the permanent card has not been received.

Currency: 

Lifetime currency.
