AED Provider
The AED Provider (AED-P) course covers all of the material in the AED Responder course in addition to a module covering AED maintenance and post incident follow up procedures. This certification course is designed for individuals who are responsible for AED maintenance, staff training or first aid policy and procedure development.

5-6 hours.
Instructed and evaluated by a current Lifesaving Society AED Instructor.
Successful candidates will be issued a temporary certification card on the last day of the course. A permanent certification card will be mailed within 60 days. Please contact us if the temporary card has expired and the permanent card has not been received.
The AED Provider certification is valid for 1 year. Candidates can recertify at any time.
AED Knowledge - General
- Demonstrate knowledge of when to use an Automated External Defibrillator.
AED Knowledge – Special Considerations
- Demonstrate knowledge of when to use an Automated External Defibrillator under special circumstances.
AED Use & Operation - General
- Demonstrate how to operate an Automated External Defibrillator.
AED Use & Operation - Prompts
- Demonstrate ability to follow voice prompts and/or symbols of an Automated External Defibrillator.
AED Use & Operation – Troubleshooting
- Demonstrate ability to identify and deal with “trouble” voice prompts and/or symbols of an Automated External Defibrillator.
One Rescuer AED
- Demonstrate one rescuer adult/child automated external defibrillation rescue on a manikin.
Two Rescuer AED
- Demonstrate two rescuer adult/child automated external defibrillation rescue on a manikin.
AED Maintenance & Follow Up
- Demonstrate knowledge of how to maintain the AED and the reporting procedures for an AED.
