On Sunday, May 28th, 2017, the Lifesaving Society and the Lifeguard Outreach Society will bring free drowning prevention lessons to youth at Saanich Commonwealth and will conduct the Swim to Survive program. The Swim to Survive program will be provided to educate youth and parents on the risks associated with swimming and teach them survival skills essential for a safe and fun experience on the water.

Swim to Survive is a Lifesaving Society program offered across Canada that provides simple basic training in three essential skills needed to survive an unexpected fall into deep water. Swim to Survive is different than swimming lessons and not a replacement for them, but an important first step to being safe around water.

We are currently seeking enthusiastic individuals who want to help us spread the word about drowning prevention in Victoria.

Deck-side volunteers and in-water volunteers are needed to help deliver valuable water safety education and free Swim to Survive lessons to families in Victoria. If you would like to be an on-deck volunteer please click here.
