Canada 1st and 13th place at Rescue 2008 Ottawa’s St-Laurent Masters Lifesaving Club placed first overall among the 189 teams competing in the Masters World Lifesaving Championship at Rescue 2008 in Germany. The Canadian team placed 13th out of 37 in the national team competition at same event. A highlight for the team was a Canadian record in the 100m Rescue Medley by William Walters of BC with a time of 1:09.24 which was then broken later that day by Scott Van Doormaal of Ontario with a time of 1:08.66.
