Lifesaving First Aid Inter-Agency Transfer Package

In recognition of the skills and experience qualified Canadian First Aid Instructors from specific agencies can bring to our program, First Aid Instructors who are currently certified with the: Canadian Red Cross, St. John‘s Ambulance, Canadian Ski Patrol or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, may be eligible to become Lifesaving Society First Aid Instructors by completing the Inter-Agency Transfer process:

  • Providing proof of a current Standard First Aid Instructor certification from one of the following: Canadian Red Cross, St. John‘s Ambulance, Canadian Ski Patrol or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.

  • Purchasing the current Lifesaving Society BC & Yukon First Aid Award Guide and instructional materials (material fees included in transfer fee).

  • Submitting a completed Lifesaving Society BC & Yukon Branch First Aid Instructor Training Record; which will include a successful co-teach on a full Lifesaving SFA course with an FAI Mentor.

Or 

  • Submitting a completed Lifesaving Society BC & Yukon Branch First Aid Instructor Training Record and successfully complete an Affiliate First Aid Instructor Cross Train course.

First Aid Instructor Recertification

Online payment for FAI Instructor Recertification.  You must log in and register in a Branch run First Aid Instructor Recert and have been approved before making payment.   For FAI Recerts being run through the pools, registration and payment should be made directly through the facility.  

Scheduled Branch run FAI Recerts:

Vancouver - Killarney Pool,  October 26th, 2014 - 8:30 - 4:30 

An official receipt will be issued to the email provided.

Written notice of a candidate’s decision to withdraw from a clinic is required. Refund of clinic fees, where applicable, will be as follows: 30 days notice = full refund; 21 days notice = 75% refund; 14 days notice = 50% refund, 7 days notice = 25% refund. Candidates that withdraw within 7 days of the clinic start date are not eligible to receive a refund, unless a written medical note is received no more than 5 days after the clinic start date. Refund of clinic materials will only be granted once materials have been returned in new condition.
