The 41st BMO Vancouver Marathon will take place on Sunday, May 6, 2012. This international running event will expose you to 'field medicine' - one that requires you to treat numerous patients in a short period of time outside of your familiar clinical setting! Ride to Conquer Cancer

Ride to Conquer Cancer, benefiting the BC Cancer Foundation will take place on June 16-17, 2012. Riders will be traveling along the scenic routes from Cloverdale, BC to Redmond, WA with an overnight stop. We are looking for volunteer crew members interested in joining us! If you cannot travel to the United States but wish to participate on June 16 at the Canadian side of operations, please let Stephen know as well! 

If you are interested in volunteering with us, please let Stephen know and registration details will be sent to you.The registration fee for medical crews is waived.

You will be required to show proof of certification/licensure or registration documentation. If you are volunteering with a friend or family member and you wish to be placed together, please let me know.

Please note, due to the international nature of this event, you must have a valid passport, enhanced drivers license/ID card or NEXUS card to enter the United States of America. Further, you must have and show proof of valid travel medical insurance for the duration of the event to participate.

Medical team Volunteer - Vancouver Sun Run

Job Description: 

50,000 participants will be pounding the pavement at the largest 10K race in Canada on Saturday, April 15. We invite you to sign up as a volunteer to the medical team to experience the energy of the city and be part of the event (without sweating!). Your name will be recognized in the Vancouver Sun newspaper for your contribution to the success of the event.

 

All volunteers are required to have valid certification, licensure or registration with a health care regulatory body.  If you are a student registered in a healthcare program and wish to join us, please feel free to sign up as well.  You will be required to show proof of certification/licensure or registration documentation before race day to officially confirm your role in the medical team. Please note, we may switch your role (finish line vs. on-course) depending on the needs of the medical team.

DROWNING CODING Volunteers

The Lifesaving Society is seeking volunteers to assist us in collecting information on water related fatalities. Volunteers should have sound reading and writing skills as you will be reviewing each drowning that occurred in BC and completing detailed questionnaires.
